Epiacum in the snow
We’ve had snowfall at Epaicum over the last day or two so we were wondering what the landscape may look like from the air. Well, there’s only one way to find out!
While it was certainly cold, very little wind combined with sunny skies creating long shadows made for almost perfect conditions to get a drone in the air to find out. For the results, check out the YouTube video below.
For those of an archaeological disposition we hope you agree it makes some of the features of the landscape very easy to identify.

An interesting Find in Germany
For those who have an interest in the reason for the existence of Epiacum, this article relating to some work undertaken by a German University makes for an fascinating read!
Goethe University’s Department of Archaeology and History have discovered two Roman military camps in the Bad Ems area near Koblenz from the 1st century AD.
